You put your arms around me and I’m home
Fear is nothing more than a feeling. It cannot harm you. And it cannot hinder you unless you allow it the chance to do so.
I watch them give their hearts away and think, don’t you know better? Hearts are breakable. And I think even when you heal, you’re never what you were before.
There’s a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line.
All that mattered was to make things right. And I would do whatever it took, journey to wherever I must, to reach that goal.
I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.
I’m in repair, I’m not together but I’m getting there.
You can’t live your life for other people. You’ve got to do what’s right for you, even if it hurts some people you love.
We can draw lessons from the past, but we cannot live in it.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.
It’s so hard to forget pain, but it’s even harder to remember sweetness. We have no scar to show for happiness. We learn so little from peace.
When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.
I like too many things and get all confused and hung up running from one falling star to another till I drop. This is the night, what it does to you. I had nothing to offer anybody except my own confusion.
It takes much bravery to stand up to our enemies but we need as much bravery to stand up to our friends.
Great things are not accomplished by those who yield to trends and fads and popular opinion.
Be not afraid of greatness. Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them.
Promise me you’ll always remember: you’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
If you’re gonna be two-faced at least make one of them pretty.
Why do we trust one another so little? I know there must be a reason, but still I sometimes think it’s horrible that you find you can never really confide in people, even in those who are nearest to you.
You’re going to come across people in your life who will say all the right words at all the right times. But in the end, it’s always their actions you should judge them by. It’s actions, not words, that matter.
No explanation, no mix of words or music or memories can touch that sense of knowing that you were there and alive in that corner of time and the world. Whatever it meant.
When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares.
